News
Medical Tape Industry knowledge

Advan Medical is a Medical Tape Suppliers based in Suzhou, China, producing adhesive medical tapes for hospitals, first-aid suppliers, medical distributors and retail brands. Since 2003 we have manufactured medical consumables across first-aid, wound care, bandages and non-woven products, and our tape range covers the five substrate families most requested by professional buyers.

Our Suzhou operations run ISO 13485:2016 quality management, most products are CE certified, and our factories comply with FDA requirements. We supply finished tape rolls, dispenser-packed formats and jumbo raw material rolls for converters, with ODM/OEM support from material selection through packaging.

Our Medical Tape Range

Each substrate family serves a different clinical or converting requirement. We produce the full range in-house, which keeps adhesive formulation, backing selection and slitting under one quality system.

Product Type Backing / Construction Typical Application Fit
Non-woven Medical Tape Breathable non-woven paper or soft cloth General fixation, large-area dressing securement, hypoallergenic skin contact
PE Medical Tape Transparent perforated polyethylene film IV line and catheter securement, dressings requiring visual inspection
wholesale Silk Medical Tape manufacturers High-strength silky cloth Splinting, device fixation, durable adhesion to dry skin
Cotton Medical Tape Cotton cloth, skin-tone options Sensitive-skin fixation, hospital and home-care use
Zinc Oxide Medical Tape Cotton or rayon cloth with zinc oxide adhesive High-tack strapping, sports and orthopedic taping

Application Fit and Substrate Selection

Tape selection starts with the skin condition, wear duration and the load the tape must carry. Non-woven paper tape suits fragile or sensitive skin where breathability matters. PE film tape is chosen when the clinician needs to see the puncture site or infusion line without removing the dressing. Silk and cotton cloth tapes handle higher tensile loads for splints and device anchoring, while zinc oxide tape provides the aggressive tack needed for strapping and sports applications.

  • Breathability: non-woven and perforated PE constructions allow moisture vapour transfer.
  • Conformability: soft cloth backings follow contours on joints and irregular anatomy.
  • Tack and shear: zinc oxide and silk constructions resist lifting under movement.
  • Visibility: transparent PE film keeps lines and wound sites observable.

Critical Specifications We Confirm

We build each tape specification around the working point rather than a catalogue default. The parameters below are the ones that most affect clinical performance and converting yield.

Parameter What We Confirm
Backing material Non-woven paper, soft cloth, PE film, cotton or rayon cloth
Adhesive type Acrylic, hot-melt or zinc oxide, matched to skin contact and tack requirement
Width and length Slit widths and roll lengths per clinical or retail format
Adhesion level Peel adhesion target for the intended wear duration
Release liner Release paper grade and release force for clean unwind
Core and packaging Core diameter, dispenser format, retail or bulk carton

Jumbo Rolls, Backing and Adhesive Supply

For converters and brand owners who slit and package in their own facility, we supply Medical Tape Jumbo Roll in the same constructions used for our finished tapes. This lets a customer keep one adhesive specification across finished goods and in-house converting.

We also supply the upstream components separately: Medical Tape Backing, release paper and medical adhesive. Controlling these inputs in-house is how we hold adhesion and unwind consistent from lot to lot.

Configuration and OEM/ODM Options

Our ODM/OEM service covers shape, colour, logo, material, specification, size and packaging. A typical tape project can be configured across the following variables:

  • Roll width, length and core size for clinical or retail use.
  • Skin-tone or white backing, with printed or plain liner.
  • Dispenser formats, including plastic dispenser packing for silk tape.
  • Retail cartons, bulk cartons or private-label packaging.
  • Sterile or non-sterile presentation where the application requires it.

Quality Control and Acceptance

Our quality control team follows documented inspection procedures under ISO 13485:2016. For tape production, the process runs from requirement confirmation and formula development through coating, rewinding, cutting and packaging in a cleanroom environment, with pH, viscosity, stability and microbiological testing applied to adhesive products.

We maintain sample retention and traceability so that a delivered lot can be traced back to its raw material and production record. Most products carry CE certification, and our Suzhou factories comply with FDA requirements. Where a project needs documentation for a specific market, we prepare the technical file to match that destination.

Information We Use to Configure Your Solution

A precise quotation depends on the working point, not just the product name. We ask for the following inputs so the first sample matches the intended use.

Project Input Why It Matters
Intended application Determines substrate, adhesive and adhesion target
Target market and compliance Sets the documentation and certification route
Width, length and core Defines slitting and winding setup
Packaging format Retail dispenser, bulk carton or private label
Order quantity Sets MOQ and production scheduling
Reference sample Allows us to match hand feel, tack and unwind

Production, Sampling and Delivery

We operate three factories and can handle both large-volume and small-batch orders. Our standard first-sample lead time is 3–7 business days, with 1–3 modification rounds depending on product type. Production lead times vary by cooperation mode: turnkey projects with mould and packaging typically run 30–60 days, standard product with packaging 20–50 days, and client-supplied packaging or raw materials 20–40 days.

MOQ for medical consumables starts at 1,000–10,000 units per specification. Pantone colour customisation starts at 20,000 units, and custom packaging begins at 100,000 units per packaging style.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which medical tape should I choose for sensitive skin?

Non-woven paper tape and cotton tape are the usual choices for sensitive or fragile skin. Both are breathable and use adhesives formulated for lower irritation. We can adjust the adhesive and backing combination to match a reference sample.

Can you supply jumbo rolls for our own converting line?

Yes. We supply jumbo raw material rolls in the same constructions as our finished tapes, along with backing, release paper and adhesive. This keeps one specification across your converting and our finished goods.

What certifications apply to your medical tape?

Our quality management follows ISO 13485:2016, most products are CE certified, and our Suzhou factories comply with FDA requirements. We prepare market-specific documentation where the destination requires it.

Do you offer private-label and dispenser packaging?

We provide ODM/OEM services covering logo, colour, size and packaging. Dispenser formats are available, including plastic dispenser packing for silk tape, as well as retail cartons and bulk cartons.

How long does sampling and production take?

First samples are typically ready in 3–7 business days, with 1–3 revision rounds. Production lead time depends on the cooperation mode and specification, generally 20–60 days.

What is the minimum order quantity?

MOQ for medical consumables starts at 1,000–10,000 units per specification. Pantone colour customisation starts at 20,000 units, and custom packaging begins at 100,000 units per packaging style.
