What We Manufacture in the IFAK Range

An IFAK is a compact, portable trauma kit designed for self-rescue or buddy aid when severe bleeding or airway obstruction occurs before evacuation. Our kits are assembled around that mission: rapid access, single-hand deployable components and contents that survive storage in a vehicle, vest or rucksack.

We build the range in three commercial forms so that distributors, agencies and private-label brands can order at the level that fits their programme.

Contents We Produce In-House

Kit performance depends on the components inside it. We manufacture or coordinate the wound care and adhesive items that make up the majority of an IFAK, which keeps material traceability and content compatibility under one roof.

Application Fit and Selection Variables

IFAK contents are not interchangeable between user groups. A tactical medic, a mine site safety officer and a school first aid programme each need different contents, packaging and shelf-life management. We configure kits against the following variables.

• Threat profile — penetrating trauma, blast injury, burns, crush injury or general workplace incidents.
• User skill level — self-aid only, buddy aid, or trained responder with airway and chest intervention skills.
• Carry method — belt, vest, thigh rig, vehicle mount, wall cabinet or bulk station supply.
• Sterility and shelf life — sterile barrier packaging, expiry dating and rotation requirements.
• Climate and storage — heat, humidity and UV exposure affect adhesive and packaging performance.

Pouch, Packaging and Labelling

The pouch determines whether the kit is used correctly under stress. We supply soft nylon pouches, rigid cases and vacuum-sealed module packs, and we can print content lists, usage instructions, lot numbers and expiry dates directly on the packaging.

Customisation covers pouch colour, logo, zipper or buckle closure, internal elastic retention, MOLLE-compatible backing and retail-ready outer cartons. For distributors, we can produce private-label packaging with your brand identity and market-specific language.

Quality Control and Compliance

Our Suzhou factories operate under ISO 13485:2016 quality management, and most of our products are CE certified. Our Suzhou factories comply with FDA requirements. A professional quality control team follows documented inspection procedures from incoming raw material through coating, converting, assembly and final release.

For IFAK programmes we maintain sample retention and traceability records, and we can supply stability and microbiological test documentation for the components inside the kit. Documentation packages are prepared according to the destination market and the regulatory route your programme follows.

OEM/ODM and Project Support

We run IFAK projects as OEM, ODM or full turnkey programmes. In an OEM project you provide the kit specification and branding, and we manufacture and assemble. In an ODM project we develop the kit configuration, pouch design and packaging with you, then produce under your brand.

Our team includes more than ten technical staff for ODM development, a dedicated R&D group, a quality inspection team and a sales team that coordinates sampling, documentation and shipment. We also operate three factories, which allows us to handle both large-volume and small-batch orders.

Maintenance, Refills and Spare Parts

IFAKs are consumable kits, not permanent equipment. We support the full lifecycle by supplying refill modules, replacement components and individual consumables so that used or expired kits can be restocked without replacing the pouch.

For programme managers, we can structure refill packs by module — haemorrhage control, wound care, airway — and provide lot and expiry data so that rotation schedules can be maintained. Pouch hardware such as buckles, zippers and retention elastic can also be supplied as spares.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can ADVAN Medical produce a custom IFAK with our own content list?

Yes. We build IFAKs to your content list, including specific tourniquet, chest seal, haemostatic dressing and airway items. You provide the required items, sizes, quantities and sterile status, and we confirm pouch dimensions, packing method and packaging artwork. If you do not have a fixed list, we can propose a configuration based on your user group and threat profile.

Do you supply IFAK refills separately from the pouch?

Yes. Refill modules are supplied as standalone packs so that kits can be restocked after use or expiry. We can structure refills by module — bleeding control, wound care, airway — and include lot numbers and expiry dates for rotation management. Pouch hardware spares are also available.

What is the minimum order quantity for a custom IFAK?

Minimum order quantity depends on the level of customisation. Standard kit configurations and refill packs start lower, while custom pouch tooling, Pantone colour matching and printed packaging require higher volumes. We confirm the exact MOQ when the content list, pouch specification and packaging artwork are defined.

How long does sampling and production take?

First samples are typically produced in 3–7 business days, with 1–3 modification rounds depending on product type and R&D needs. Production lead time varies with cooperation mode and product complexity; we confirm the schedule in the project plan once the content list and packaging are approved.

Can you supply the wound dressings and tapes inside the kit from your own production?

Yes. We manufacture wound dressings, medical tapes, bandages, gauze and adhesive materials, and we supply jumbo raw material rolls for converting. This means the components inside the IFAK can be produced and controlled under the same quality system as the finished kit, with material traceability from raw roll to packed kit.
