News
Bandages Industry knowledge

ADVAN Medical (Suzhou Advan Medical Technology Co., Ltd.) has manufactured medical consumables since 2003 and operates three factories in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province, China. Our Bandages Suppliers range covers gauze bandages, medical bandages and medical absorbent cotton for hospitals, first-aid suppliers, medical distributors and retail brands. We produce under ISO 13485:2016 quality management, with most products CE certified and our Suzhou factories complying with FDA requirements.

Bandages are the interface between a dressing and the patient. They must conform to curved anatomy, hold position under movement, deliver the intended compression or support, and remain breathable. Our range is built around those functional requirements, with material, width, length, elasticity and packaging configured to the clinical or retail application.

Our Bandage Range

We supply three bandage families from the same manufacturing base, which allows a distributor to consolidate bandages, cotton and related wound-care items in one order. Each family has a distinct role in wound management and first-aid kits.

Gauze Bandage

A continuous absorbent strip used to wrap limbs, secure dressings and provide light pressure. Conforms to body contours and is available in multiple widths and lengths for hospital and retail packing.

Medical Bandage

A general term for materials that support dressings, apply pressure or immobilize joints. Supplied in elastic and non-elastic constructions to match compression, fixation and support requirements.

Medical Absorbent Cotton

Rolls and pre-formed balls for wound cleaning, medication application and dressing. Custom sizes and pack formats are available for clinical and consumer channels.

Application Fit by Product Type

The correct bandage depends on the wound, the body site and the level of compression or support required. The table below maps our range to common applications and the selection variables we use when preparing a proposal.

Product Typical Application Key Selection Variables
Gauze Bandage Securing primary dressings, light compression, limb wrapping Width, length, mesh count, absorbency, sterile or non-sterile
Medical Bandage Compression, joint support, dressing fixation, post-operative care Elasticity, stretch direction, cohesive or adhesive coating, tensile strength
Medical Absorbent Cotton Wound cleaning, antiseptic application, padding, dressing support Cotton purity, absorbency, roll or ball format, pack quantity

Materials and Construction

We select raw materials for absorbency, strength and skin contact. Gauze bandages use cotton or cotton-viscose blends woven to a specified thread count. Medical bandages may be woven, knitted or non-woven, with elastic yarns added for stretch. Absorbent cotton is processed to remove natural waxes so it wets out quickly and holds fluid.

  • Absorbency: controlled by fiber type, weave density and finishing.
  • Conformability: influenced by weave structure and bandage width relative to the limb.
  • Elasticity: determined by yarn type and knit construction for compression and support products.
  • Adhesion or cohesion: available for self-adherent and adhesive bandage formats where the application requires it.

Specifications We Confirm Before Production

Bandage performance is defined by measurable parameters. Our technical team confirms the following with each customer before tooling or production begins, so the finished product matches the intended clinical or retail use.

  • Dimensions: width, stretched length and roll diameter.
  • Weight and density: grams per square meter or grams per roll.
  • Absorbency: fluid uptake and wicking rate for gauze and cotton products.
  • Elasticity and recovery: stretch percentage and return behavior for elastic bandages.
  • Sterility: sterile or non-sterile, with the corresponding packaging and validation route.
  • Packaging: flow wrap, poly bag, dispenser box, carton count and labeling language.

Configuration and OEM/ODM Options

We operate as an OEM and ODM manufacturer, so the bandage can be adapted to a brand's market position rather than selected from a fixed catalog. Configuration covers product form, packaging and branding.

Product Form

Roll length, width, edge finish, sterile or non-sterile presentation, and individual or bulk packing.

Branding

Logo, color, artwork and multilingual labeling applied to the primary pack and carton.

Packaging Format

Retail dispenser boxes, clinical bulk packs, first-aid kit components and private-label cartons.

Quality Control and Compliance

Our quality control team follows documented inspection procedures across incoming materials, in-process production and finished goods. Production is organized to ISO 13485:2016, most products are CE certified, and our Suzhou factories comply with FDA requirements. We maintain sample retention and traceability records so that a delivered batch can be traced back through its production and material history.

  • Incoming raw material inspection for fiber, yarn and packaging components.
  • In-process checks on width, length, weight and appearance.
  • Finished goods inspection before packing and shipment.
  • Documentation support for CE and FDA market requirements, tailored to the destination market.

Related Products and Supply Chain Integration

Bandages are rarely ordered in isolation. Distributors and first-aid suppliers often combine them with wound dressings, medical tape and raw materials. Our integrated supply chain covers materials through finished products, which supports consistent quality and protects new designs.
