Skin Closure (or Wound Closure) is a medical supply that reduces wound tension through physical traction, prevents scar hyperplasia, and accelerates healing. It is often considered an aid to sutures or a powerful tool for preventing scarring in the early stages of wound healing.

Self-adhesive electrode pads are the silent workhorses behind every TENS, EMS, and muscle-stimulation session. They deliver the low-voltage pulses that relieve pain, relax tight muscles, and speed up recovery, but only when the pad stays sticky and conducts evenly. With each use, the conductive hydrogel picks up skin ...
READ MOREA foam dressing is a soft, cushioning wound cover made from medical-grade polyurethane foam. It is designed to absorb exudate, keep the wound bed moist, and protect the healing area from friction and contamination. Because of its versatility, healthcare professionals rely on foam dressings for a wide range of acute an...
READ MOREManaging a wound at home means more than just placing a clean pad over it. The way a dressing fits can determine how quickly the wound heals and whether complications appear. One of the most common problems is a dressing applied too tightly. When a bandage squeezes the wound or the surrounding limb, it can reduce bloo...
READ MORESuzhou Advan Medical Technology Co., Ltd. manufactures wound closure and skin closure patches within our Body Patch family — adhesive devices that reduce wound tension through physical traction, support approximated wound edges and help limit early scar hyperplasia. We produce them alongside our wound dressing, medical tape and jumbo raw material roll lines, so the adhesive, backing and release liner of a closure patch come from the same controlled supply chain.
Our range serves hospitals, first-aid suppliers, medical distributors and retail healthcare brands across 60+ countries. We work as a wholesale Wound Closure manufacturers partner for OEM and ODM programmes, from strip geometry and adhesive selection through cleanroom converting, sterile or non-sterile packing and export cartons.
Wound closure patches are applied over a cleaned, approximated wound as an adjunct to sutures, staples or adhesive closure, or as a scar-management tool in the early healing phase. The functional requirement is consistent: hold the wound edges in position under controlled tension without irritating peri-wound skin, and release cleanly when changed.
We build each patch from four engineered layers — backing film or non-woven, adhesive, reinforcement strip where required, and release liner. Because we also produce Jumbo Raw Material Roll stock in-house, coating weight, peel behaviour and liner release are set at master-roll stage rather than bought in as a finished laminate.
Narrow adhesive strips with reinforcement filaments or a stiffened centre zone, supplied on a liner card for single-handed application over approximated wound edges.
Larger adhesive patches used after suture removal or on healed incisions to support the scar line, with breathable or waterproof backing options.
Transparent, high-tack film patches that stay in place during washing and swimming, used where a wound must be protected from water ingress.
Related adhesive body patches for catheter fixation and I.V. site securement, sharing the same adhesive and converting platform as our closure items.
Closure patch selection follows the wound, not the catalogue. Incised surgical wounds, laparoscopic port sites, paediatric cuts and lacerations closed in emergency departments all place different demands on tension control, conformability and wear time. Retail scar-care programmes place more weight on cosmetic appearance, discreet sizing and retail-ready packaging.
Adhesive chemistry drives most complaints in this category — irritation, lifting edges and painful removal. We select acrylic, hydrocolloid or silicone-based adhesives according to wear time, skin sensitivity and whether the patch must tolerate moisture. Backing choice then follows: PE film for waterproofing and transparency, non-woven for breathability and conformability, or a reinforced laminate where the patch must resist tension across the wound line.
| Specification | What We Confirm With You | Typical Options |
|---|---|---|
| Patch dimensions | Strip width, length, strip count per card | Narrow strips to wide closure patches |
| Adhesive system | Peel adhesion, tack, wear time, skin sensitivity | Acrylic, hydrocolloid, silicone |
| Backing / carrier | Waterproofing, breathability, transparency, stretch | PE film, non-woven, reinforced laminate |
| Release liner | Release force, die-cut shape, application aid | Silicone-coated paper or film |
| Sterility | Sterile or non-sterile, pouch or blister format | EO-sterilised or cleanroom-packed |
| Packaging | Counts, artwork, language set, carton configuration | Bulk, retail carton, kit component |
Our Suzhou operations run coating, rewinding, die-cutting and packaging under one roof, which keeps the closure patch consistent from master roll to finished card. Coating weight and adhesive distribution are controlled at the coating stage; rotary die-cutting then sets strip geometry and liner kiss-cut depth. That sequence matters because a liner cut too deep tears during application, while a shallow cut slows the operator.
We operate three factories and can schedule both large-volume and small-batch orders, which suits distributors building a range as well as brands running a single high-volume SKU. Converting lines accept roll stock from our own Medical Adhesive and liner production, and we can also convert customer-supplied laminates when a brand already holds an approved material specification.
Production follows ISO 13485:2016 procedures, and most of our products carry CE marking; our Suzhou factories comply with FDA requirements. Our quality team works to written inspection procedures rather than end-of-line sampling alone.
For projects requiring EU or FDA-aligned documentation, we prepare formulation and technical files to suit the target market, and we agree the acceptance criteria with you before the first production run so that incoming inspection at your warehouse matches what we test here.
Our ODM service covers shape, colour, logo, material, specification, size and packaging. A dedicated technical team handles artwork adaptation, die layout and material substitution, and we support OEM production where you supply the design and we manufacture to it.
Minimum order quantities start from 1,000–10,000 units per specification for our medical consumables range, with higher thresholds for Pantone colour customisation and printed packaging. First samples are typically ready in 3–7 business days, with 1–3 revision rounds depending on product type.
Closure patches are rarely bought alone. Distributors and hospital suppliers usually build a wound-care basket, and we manufacture the adjacent items on the same adhesive platform.
We prepare a configuration and quotation from the working point of the product, not from a generic price list. The following inputs let us specify the right construction and pack the first time.
| Project Input | Why We Need It |
|---|---|
| Intended wound type and application site | Sets tension requirement, conformability and wear time |
| Target market and regulatory route | Determines documentation, labelling and sterility format |
| Required dimensions and strip count | Drives die layout and material yield |
| Adhesive and backing preference or existing sample | Allows matching or improvement of an approved product |
| Sterile or non-sterile, pouch or blister | Defines cleanroom and packaging route |
| Annual volume and order pattern | Sets MOQ, tooling and production scheduling |
| Artwork, languages and carton configuration | Enables packaging quotation and print preparation |
Finished goods are packed to the agreed carton configuration with batch identification, and shipments are accompanied by the inspection and traceability records relevant to the order. We hold retained samples so that a future production run can be compared against the approved standard.
For repeat programmes we keep the approved material specification and die layout on file, which shortens reorder lead time and reduces the risk of drift between batches. Our sales and technical teams handle specification queries, artwork revisions and after-sales follow-up directly, and we support distributors who need consistent supply across a multi-SKU wound-care range.
We are a manufacturer. Suzhou Advan Medical Technology Co., Ltd. has produced medical consumables since 2003 and operates three factories in Suzhou, covering coating, converting, cleanroom production and packaging. Yes. Send the sample or the specification — dimensions, adhesive type, backing, liner, sterility and packaging — and we will match or improve it. Our ODM service also covers shape, colour, logo and material development where you do not yet have a fixed design.
We supply both sterile and non-sterile formats, in peel-open pouches, blister cards or bulk packs, depending on the intended channel. Sterile production runs through our cleanroom environment, and non-sterile retail configurations are packed for pharmacy and consumer shelves.
Production follows ISO 13485:2016 procedures, most products are CE certified, and our Suzhou factories comply with FDA requirements. Orders are supported by inspection records and retained samples, with formulation and technical documentation prepared to suit the regulatory route of the destination market.
