The primary adhesives used include hot-melt adhesive, acrylic adhesive (which meets hypoallergenic standards), zinc oxide adhesive, silicone adhesive (specifically designed for use on extremely delicate skin).
In the production of medical jumbo rolls, medical adhesives constitute the core technology. These adhesives must strike a delicate balance between providing strong adhesion and ensuring skin-friendliness, while also complying with biocompatibility standards (ISO 10993).

Self-adhesive electrode pads are the silent workhorses behind every TENS, EMS, and muscle-stimulation session. They deliver the low-voltage pulses that relieve pain, relax tight muscles, and speed up recovery, but only when the pad stays sticky and conducts evenly. With each use, the conductive hydrogel picks up skin ...

It is designed to absorb exudate, keep the wound bed moist, and protect the healing area from friction and contamination. Because of its versatility, healthcare professionals rely on foam dressings for a wide range of acute an...
READ MOREManaging a wound at home means more than just placing a clean pad over it. The way a dressing fits can determine how quickly the wound heals and whether complications appear. One of the most common problems is a dressing applied too tightly. When a bandage squeezes the wound or the surrounding limb, it can reduce bloo...
READ MOREADVAN Medical (Suzhou Advan Medical Technology Co., Ltd.) manufactures medical adhesives in jumbo raw material roll format for converters, tape producers, dressing brands and OEM/ODM medical consumable programmes. Our adhesive range covers hot-melt, acrylic, zinc oxide and silicone systems, supplied as coated rolls that feed coating, rewinding, slitting, die-cutting and packaging lines.
Since 2003 we have produced medical consumables at our Suzhou factories, and our adhesive rolls are engineered around the working point of the downstream product: the substrate it will be coated on, the skin contact duration, the converting method and the compliance file the finished device must carry. Our quality system follows ISO 13485:2016, most products are CE certified, and our Suzhou factories comply with FDA requirements.
We are a wholesale Medical Adhesive manufacturers and OEM/ODM factory, not a trading intermediary. Adhesive formulation, coating, rewinding and quality inspection sit inside our own production chain, which lets us hold a specification across repeat orders and adjust it when a customer changes backing, liner or converting equipment.
Medical adhesives are the functional core of every jumbo roll we supply. The formulation has to balance tack, peel strength, shear holding and skin compatibility at the same time, and it must remain stable through the customer's coating, drying, slitting and storage steps. We treat those as one engineering problem rather than separate purchasing items.
Four established adhesive chemistries cover most medical tape, dressing and patch programmes. Selection depends on skin contact duration, breathability, converting temperature and the regulatory route of the finished product.
| Adhesive System | Typical Fit | Key Selection Variables |
|---|---|---|
| Hot-melt adhesive | High-volume medical tape, non-woven and PE tape jumbo rolls | Coating weight, open time, tack level, line speed |
| Acrylic adhesive | Hypoallergenic tape, transparent dressings, long-wear fixation | Peel and shear balance, ageing behaviour, breathability |
| Zinc oxide adhesive | Zinc oxide tape, rigid strapping and traditional fixation products | Adhesive mass, cloth weight, unwind force |
| Silicone adhesive | Delicate-skin contact layers, silicone foam and scar management products | Soft peel, repositionability, liner release |
Each system is supplied in jumbo roll form so that converters can run their own coating, lamination, slitting or die-cutting process without changing the adhesive specification between batches.
Our adhesive materials are used across the medical consumable families we manufacture and supply, and we match the adhesive grade to the end product rather than to a single generic specification.
If a programme sits between two of these families, we review the finished product construction and recommend the adhesive system that supports it, including the liner and backing combination.
Adhesive rolls are specified as a system of adhesive, carrier and liner. The values below are the parameters we confirm with customers before a production run is scheduled.
Adhesive jumbo rolls are an input to the customer's line, so the roll has to behave predictably at speed. We review the converting route before fixing a specification, because unwind force, liner release and web tension interact differently on coating, lamination, rotary die-cutting and high-speed packaging equipment.
For automated lines we confirm splice requirements, maximum roll diameter, core material and the tension window the adhesive can tolerate. Where a customer runs multiple converting sites, we keep one adhesive specification and one test method across all deliveries so that output stays consistent between plants.
Our quality control team works to inspection procedures that support ISO 13485:2016 compliance, and our Suzhou factories comply with FDA requirements. Most of our products are CE certified, and we prepare the technical documentation needed for the customer's own regulatory submission.
Acceptance criteria are agreed in writing before the first production batch, so that incoming inspection at the customer's plant uses the same limits as our outgoing inspection.
We operate OEM and ODM programmes for medical adhesive rolls, covering adhesive formulation, coat weight, roll width, core size, liner type and packaging format. Our technical team supports customers who need a formulation adjusted for a new backing, a lower peel profile for paediatric or geriatric skin, or a higher shear value for long-wear fixation.
Custom work follows a defined sequence: requirement confirmation, sample preparation, customer evaluation, revision rounds and then production release. Sampling typically runs 3–7 business days for standard requests, with 1–3 modification rounds depending on product type and development needs. Custom packaging and Pantone colour matching carry their own minimum order quantities, which we confirm at quotation stage.
Adhesive is one part of a complete raw material programme. Customers building a finished tape or dressing usually source several of these categories together.
A workable adhesive specification comes from the finished product backwards. These are the inputs our technical and sales teams use to prepare a configuration and quotation.
| Input | What We Need From You | Why It Matters |
|---|---|---|
| Finished product | Tape, dressing, electrode or patch type, with a sample or drawing | Sets the adhesive family and coat weight |
| Skin contact profile | Wear duration, skin sensitivity, wet or dry environment | Drives peel, breathability and biocompatibility requirements |
| Backing and liner | Material, thickness and release preference | Determines coating compatibility and unwind behaviour |
| Roll format | Width, length, core diameter, maximum roll diameter | Matches the customer's slitting and converting equipment |
| Performance targets | Peel, tack and shear values with the test method used | Aligns acceptance criteria between both plants |
| Compliance route | Target market, CE or FDA pathway, documentation needs | Defines the test evidence and technical file we prepare |
| Commercial scope | Annual volume, order pattern, packaging and labelling format | Sets MOQ, production planning and delivery schedule |
Adhesive jumbo rolls are packed to protect the adhesive face and liner during transport, with roll cores supported and outer wrapping sealed against moisture and dust. We confirm pallet configuration, labelling content and shipment documentation against the destination market before dispatch.
For ongoing programmes we keep retained samples and traceability records so that a later batch can be compared with the approved reference. Spare cores, liner and packaging materials can be supplied alongside repeat adhesive orders, and our sales and technical teams handle specification questions after delivery as part of normal account support.
Acrylic adhesives are the usual choice for long-wear fixation because they balance peel strength, shear holding and breathability over extended skin contact. For very delicate or compromised skin, a silicone adhesive gives a softer peel and supports repositioning. We confirm the wear duration and skin condition before recommending a system.
Yes. We match the adhesive system to the backing and release liner already used on your line, or supply the complete combination of adhesive, backing and liner from our jumbo roll range. Providing a current sample and the roll dimensions lets us align the specification to your converting equipment.
We prepare technical documentation covering adhesive composition, coat weight, adhesion performance and ISO 10993-relevant biocompatibility evidence for skin-contact applications. Our quality system follows ISO 13485:2016, most products are CE certified, and our Suzhou factories comply with FDA requirements. Documentation is tailored to the target market of the finished device.
We run both. OEM covers production to your existing specification and brand, while ODM covers formulation and product development with our technical team. Sampling typically takes 3–7 business days, with 1–3 revision rounds depending on the product type and development needs.
Minimum order quantity depends on the adhesive system, roll format and packaging. For our medical consumables range, MOQ starts at 1,000–10,000 units per specification, and custom packaging or Pantone colour matching carries higher minimums. We confirm the exact figure with the quotation once the specification is fixed.
Store rolls in the original sealed packaging, away from direct sunlight, at stable temperature and moderate humidity. Adhesive performance and liner release can change if rolls are exposed to heat or moisture before converting. We state the recommended storage conditions with each shipment.
